6th October 2014

Dear Parents / Carers

As some of you may be aware there is a planned day of industrial action on Tuesday 14th October, 2014. The industrial action called by Unison, Unite and GMG unions includes their members in the Education Sector. This will have the following impact on the school.

The school will be closed to pupils in the Foundation Phase (Class 1).

School will be open as usual for pupils in Key Stage 2 (Class 2).

There will be no breakfast club on that day so children should not arrive before 8.55am when there will be a member of staff on duty.

The school bus will run as normal.

There will be school lunches for children in Key Stage 2 - unless we receive  additional information.

I understand that this may cause parents some difficulty as you will have to make alternative arrangements but due to the strike action we will only be able to open the school to Key Stage 2 pupils.

I know some of the children are keen to get 100% attendance, so in that regard this is a school closure and children in Class 1 would not be recorded as absent.

The school will be open as normal on Wednesday 15th October.

If the industrial action is cancelled or postponed then the school will be open as usual.

Yours sincerely

Clive Condon
